Compassion Local is a faith-based initiative by Emissaries of Christ dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commandment by loving our neighbors in tangible ways. We believe that every act of kindness is a reflection of God's heart for His children.

Our mission is to serve the "ALICE" community through the lens of Christian stewardship. By connecting generous hearts with verified needs, we strive to bring hope and restoration to families, just as Christ brings restoration to us all.

Every application is prayerfully considered and verified to ensure we are helping those who are striving to honor God through their hard work.

Sponsoree Requirements

To ensure we help those most in need, we have a clear set of requirements for applicants.

  • Demonstrated Need: Applicants must provide documentation of the specific bill, expense, or equipment they need help with.
  • Income Status: We prioritize "ALICE" households—those who are working but unable to save or handle emergencies.
  • Local Residency: Currently, we focus our support on families and individuals within Citrus County, Florida.
  • Action Plan: Applicants should have a short-term or long-term goal they are working towards to move beyond their current crisis.
  • Willingness to Connect: We encourage a connection between sponsors and sponsorees, whether through a thank you note or occasional updates.
  • Pay it Forward: We encourage but do not require clients to 'pay it forward' into the system even just a small amount once they've resolved their financial issues, to help build momentum and community.
